Drilling tools operate under repeated impact, torque, abrasion and changing formation conditions. Stable quality cannot depend on final appearance inspection alone. It requires control of materials, manufacturing processes, dimensions and batch information throughout the supply chain.
Incoming Material Review
The mechanical performance of a hammer, bit or drill rod begins with the selected steel and carbide components. Material grade, chemical composition and mechanical properties should match the intended product and working load.
Forging and Heat Treatment
Forging flow and heat treatment influence strength, toughness and wear resistance. Process temperature, hardness and the relationship between the hardened surface and tougher core must be controlled according to the part. Excessive hardness may increase brittleness, while insufficient hardness may accelerate wear.
Machining and Dimensional Control
Threads, splines, air passages, sealing surfaces and assembly dimensions directly affect compatibility and performance. Critical dimensions should be checked during machining rather than waiting until final assembly. This reduces the chance that accumulated dimensional variation causes leakage, jamming or premature wear.
Final Inspection
- Appearance and identification check
- Critical dimension and thread inspection
- Assembly and movement verification where applicable
- Hardness or material records according to the product
- Packaging and quantity confirmation before shipment
Batch Traceability
Batch records connect the finished product with material, production and inspection information. Traceability helps investigate a problem systematically and supports corrective action when abnormal wear or failure is reported.
Quality Is Measured in the Working Condition
A drilling tool must also be correctly selected and operated. Formation, pressure, rotation, feed force and drill string condition can all affect service life. For this reason, quality support includes product inspection as well as application analysis.
HLDRILLS supports product matching and technical follow-up for rock drilling applications. Customers may also provide inspection or documentation requirements during quotation.
